Online categories - linked with QR-menu and Self ordering kiosk
Online categories are the tiles a guest taps. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner. They are the menu on the QR menu and on the self-ordering kiosk. The groups you keep on Menu stay the kitchen’s own categories.
Open Online categories when the QR Guest menu or the Self ordering Kiosk is on for this restaurant. On Multi-Outlet, the page is for the location you are signed into.
What a tile contains
A tile has a name the guest can read. You choose which kitchen categories belong on it. Starters can sit on Snacks. The same Starters category can also sit on Dinner, so those dishes show under both tiles.
A dish shows on the tile when Enabled on POS and Enabled on QR menu are both on for that dish, on Menu. Under each kitchen category the page shows how many dishes are on, for example 12 on POS · 10 on QR.
Create a tile
Add the kitchen categories and the dishes on Menu first.
On Online categories, type a name such as Breakfast, or tap a suggestion: Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Non veg snacks, Dinner, Desserts, Beverages. Press Create.
When tiles are already on the page, New online category opens the same box.
Edit a tile
Press Edit on the tile.
- Name — the words on the guest tile.
- Kiosk photo — optional. JPG or PNG, 780×780 or smaller, 500 KB or less. This picture sits beside the name on the kiosk and on the QR tile. Leave it empty and the kiosk uses the photo of the highest-priced dish on that tile. On the QR menu, an empty photo uses a dish photo from that tile when one of those dishes has a photo. Otherwise the guest sees the first letter of the tile name.
- Search kitchen categories — find a kitchen category by name.
- Tick the kitchen categories that belong on this tile. Ticked ones sit under On this tile. With more than one kitchen, the kitchen name sits above its categories.
Press Save. Close while ticks are still unsaved asks Close without saving?
A kitchen category that is turned off on Menu is left out of this list. Turn it on under Menu, then edit the tile again.
On the QR menu
The guest opens the QR menu and sees the tiles. Each tile shows the name, how many dishes are on it, and the photo. They tap a tile. The dishes from the kitchen categories you ticked are listed, lowest price first. The tiles stay on the page, so the guest can move from Breakfast to Dinner. A dish that sits on two tiles shows under both.
The switch on your tile reads On QR menu. Turn it on and guests see that tile on the QR menu and on the kiosk. Turn it off and the tile remains on Online categories, ready to turn on again. Guests skip that tile on both screens. POS still lists dishes under the kitchen categories on Menu.
On the self-ordering kiosk
The kiosk uses the same tiles. Along the side, under Menu, each tile shows the photo, the name, and how many dishes. The guest taps a tile and sees those dishes. The On QR menu switch shows or hides the tile here as well.
With no tiles yet, the QR menu and the kiosk say the menu has no online categories yet.
Delete a tile
Delete asks you to confirm. The tile goes away. The message says kitchen categories are kept. The dishes stay on Menu.
Done
Create one tile, tick a few kitchen categories, and leave On QR menu on. Open the QR menu and the kiosk and tap that tile.
